Mark  L.  Sheldon  is  currently  Lecturer  in  the  Interna6onal   Asian   Studies   Program,   The  Chinese  University   of  Hong  Kong.   For  over  thirty   years,  Mr.  Sheldon  has  been  teaching  courses  on  Chinese  foreign  rela6ons,  Hong  Kong   poli6cs,   compara6ve   educa6on,   and  philanthropy  in  Asian  socie6es.  

Previously,   Mark   was   the   Director   of   the  Yale-­‐China  Associa6on's  Hong   Kong   Office,  based   at   New   Asia   College,   and   also  Director   of   the  Hong  Kong-­‐America  Center,  a   consor6um   of   eight   Hong   Kong   higher  educa6on  ins6tu6ons.  For  six  years,  he  was  Director,  Office  of  Academic  Links-­‐Interna6onal  of   CUHK,   working   closely   with   then  Vice-­‐Chancellor,   Professor  Charles  K.  Kao.  Earlier  in  his  career,  he  served  in  the  China  Program  and  as  East  Asia  Secretary  for  the  United  Methodist  Board  of  Global  Ministries  and  as  the  founding   Director   of   the  China  Program,   United  Board   for   Chris6an  Higher  Educa6on  in  Asia  (both  based  in  New  York  City).    From  2007-­‐2009,  Mr.  Sheldon  was  the  Director,  Office  of  Ins6tu6onal  Advancement  of  HKIS.

Mr.   Sheldon   received   his   B.A.   in   poli6cal   science   from   Illinois   Wesleyan  University  and  an  M.A.  in  Interna6onal  Rela6ons  and  Chinese  Studies  from  the  University  of  Hawaii,  Manoa  and  the  East-­‐West  Center,  in  Honolulu,  Hawaii.
