Definition: A matrix (plural: matrices) is a rectangular array of numbers written within brackets. > represent a matrix with a capital letter > classify it by its dimensions (# of horizontal rows & # of vertical columns)
Examples:
Matrix A is a 2 x 3 matrix.A = [ ]2 3 46 7 0
3 columns
2 rows
Matrix B is a x matrix.B = [ ]1 6 83 0 74 2 2
Matrix C is a x matrix.C = [ ]1/2 5 0.9
Matrix D is a x matrix.D = [ ]23 15 15 19.5 22 28
