2020 Suntory Brands
SUNTORY FLOWERS revolutionized our industry by creating new markets and premium product categories.
For bedding plants, this defining moment was the introduction of Surfinia in 1989. While naysayers scoffed at paying more for lowly petunias, customers were indeed happy to after witnessing superior garden performance, beauty and vigor in their hanging baskets, window boxes and balcony planters. Surfinia elevated petunias out of the seed commodity class and led the revolution in vegetative annuals. Next came calibrachoas, verbenas, torenias, the birth of Proven Winners and so much more. You really can view our industry as before and after Surfinia. The shift was that momentous! While Surfinia remains the flagship series for Suntory in annuals, Senetti pericallis, Soiree catharanthus and Surdiva scaevolas are coming on strong! Sun Parasol mandevillas are in a class by themselves. Stay tuned for the next game-changing varieties! And please join us in celebrating 30 years of Surfinia petunias!

Kawaii means cute in Japanese! Each plant is loaded with tiny flowers that produce tidy mounds of color from late spring until frost. Kawaii thrives in the heat, providing carefree color all summer! Plants retain their compact habit, finish nicely in small pots, but also fill out larger pots with superior branching ability. Soiree Kawaii puts on a show when many other plants are on their last leg. They are tiny but terrific!
