Our cover story in this May-June edition of APME News is a column by Joel Christopher, vice president of USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin, the new name for the company ’s group of 10 news organizations in that state. Oops. Well, make that 11 now, with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel joining the Gannett fold a few weeks ago. The Wisconsin group has worked as a team for two decades, so Joel ’s report on its leadership and early successes under the USA TODAY umbrella isn ’t a surprise Some great other reads in this issue, including a wonderful report by APME News writer Autumn Phillip on the future of presidential endorsements by news organizations, great news about first Pulitzer Prize for Public Service won by The Associated Press, and the announcement of this year’s APME Innovation in Journalism Awards.
