Replacement ink yields for ink packs and bottles are based on Epson methodology and ISO/IEC 24712 patterns in default mode printing continuously. Cartridge, ink pack and bottle yields vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly in one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance and all colors have to be installed for printing. For print quality, part of the ink from the included cartridges, ink packs and bottles is used for printer startup and a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridges, ink packs or bottles after the “replace cartridge”, “replace ink pack” or “refill ink tank” signal. DISPLAY SIZE MATTERS GIVE EVERY STUDENT OPTIMUM ACCESS TO CONTENTFor many classrooms, flat-panel displays are simply too small to give students optimum access. Epson projectors give you the flexibility to maximize readability for all students. To understand the connection between display size and viewing distance, and to identify the ideal display size for your classrooms, ask your Epson representative for technical assistance.
SELECTING THE RIGHT DISPLAY SIZE
HIGHER COLOR BRIGHTNESS & WIDER COLOR GAMUTEpson projectors are engineered to deliver both high white and color brightness. That gives teachers the power to leave classroom lights on during presentations. And our projectors display colors more accurately because our color gamuts are much wider than those of competing DLP projectors.
With Epson 3LCD Projection Technology in the classroom, lecture hall, auditorium or collaborative space, you energize learning for all students with a better image quality and a superior visual experience.
DLP (1-chip)
Color Brightness: 750 lumens
White Brightness: 2,700 lumens
3LCD (3-chip)
Color Brightness: 2,600 lumens
White Brightness: 2,600 lumens
*Color brightness (color light output) measured in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Color brightness will vary depending on usage conditions. The projectors used by a third-party lab for measuring color brightness were leading Epson 3LCD business and education projectors and leading 1-chip DLP projectors, based on NPD sales data for June 2013 through May 2014 and PMA Research sales data for Q1 through Q3 2013. **Among people who had a preference, 7 out of 10 preferred images from leading 3LCD business and education projectors over leading 1-chip DLP projectors for readability (total results for the dominant resolutions in the category). Based on independent U.S. research conducted by Radius Research (August 2015). 1White brightness is according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The manufacturer does not provide a color brightness specification for this model. This data was obtained from independent third-party laboratory testing of a unit according to the international standard for measuring color brightness, IDMS 15.4.

SUPERIOR READABILITY7 out of 10 people prefer 3LCD business and education projectors over DLP (1-chip) competitors for readability—a critical factor for instructional uses. More than half of those who preferred 3LCD characterized it as not just more readable but “much more readable.”**

“Readability is key to learning. It is critical to deliver content that is accessible and readable for all children. Our Epson projectors give our students, even those in the back rows, the ability to clearly view all content which helps them to better understand the subject matter.”

Introducing Projectors Designed for Integration with SMART Board Interactive WhiteboardsWe reached out to educators across the country to learn more about specific instructional needs and challenges. You and your colleagues told us that your top priorities included collaboration, working in a BYOD environment and connectivity with a range of devices.
That’s why we’ve introduced three new Epson PowerLite® projectors specifically engineered to provide enhanced integration capabilities with SMART Board interactive whiteboard systems.
Pair projectors with SMART Board (sold separately) featuring SMART Notebook® software and SMART Ink® tools for an integrated solution.
The three available models, the PowerLite 530W, 580W and 585W for SMART, vary only in terms of color lumens and white brightness, and all feature 3LCD and 3-chip technology for higher color brightness.

Laser Projectors vs. Lamp Projectors
What makes Epson laser projectors different?
3-chip 3LCD technology for higher color brightness compared to 1-chip DLP laser projectors
Backed by a 3-year or 20,000-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty—including 24x7 usage and Next Business-Day replacement
Inorganic 3LCD panels with an inorganic phosphor wheel to achieve higher brightness and reliability
4K Enhancement Technology* accepts 4K input—allowing viewers to experience the most intricate details
10 optional motorized lenses including zero-offset 0.35 ultra short-throw lens**
Key differences between Laser and Lamp projectors
What is a laser projector?
A laser projector is a projector that uses a laser light source, instead of a traditional lamp. Many of the components such as the optical engine, lenses and image processor are identical to their lamp-based counterparts. Epson uses 3-chip 3LCD technology in all of its projectors, including lamp and laser projectors.
Benefits
• Virtually maintenance-free operation• Instant On/Off• Absolute Black—higher contrast ratio
Considerations
• Higher initial investment• Constant brightness reduction• Costly light engine replacement
LASER PROJECTORS LAMP PROJECTORS
Benefits
• Low initial investment• Low Total Cost of Ownership even at similar total
number of hours vs. laser• Restored brightness after lamp replacement
Considerations
• Requires maintenance• Labor cost for replacement lamp• Potential downtime due to maintenance
