The 17th Annual Heartland Artist Exhibition Opening is this Saturday, March 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery (located on the 3rd floor of the Irene B. French Community Center, 5701 Merriam Drive). This year 86 artists, representing 8 different states (NY, CO,MT,ND,IL,KS,MO & MN), submitted works for acceptance into our national show. Juror John Roush has selected the top 99 works that will be on display at the community center until April 6th. An awards presentation, with over $3,000 in prize money, will occur at 6:30 PM. Admission to this event is free and refreshments will be provided. In addition, the opening reception will also feature live music from KC Strings violinist, Patrick Ireland. The Tim Murphy Art Gallery

Tim Murphy was an unusually dedicated employee with a passion for his job. One of Tim’s major accomplishments was the development of our art gallery which has been in existence since 1996. Tim organized 188 art exhibitions for the city. Our Gallery was named The Tim Murphy Art Gallery on March 3, 2012.
