FontThe Font group in the Home tab of theRibbon is something that users will always access and is probably one of the most used features in any text editing software. Changing fonts, font sizes and font colors are only some of the features available in this group

WordArt

WordArt can be found in the Insert ► Text ► WordArt. This is useful for creating beautiful font graphics.

Shapes

Shapes can be found in the Insert ► Illustrations ► Shapes. Drawing anything in MS PowerPoint will need this feature.

Lines One - Can draw curved lines, scribble lines, arrows, and freedom lines.

Basic Shapes - One can have the square, heart, smiley, moon, rainbow, and more.

Block Arrows - There are many different types of arrows in this menu.

Flowchart - One can make diagrams and charts in using these group of shapes. This is where your connectors can be used.

Callouts - This is where one can see talk bubbles, which are used for conversations or ideas.

Stars and Banners - This menu have different types of stars and banners to choose from.

Activity1. Start MS Powerpoint and create a blank document. Click the Insert tab in the Ribbon, then click WordArt icon and choose a WordArt style that you want. Then type “TL”.

2. Highlight the content of the wordart and change the font and font size to the desired settings.

3. Add more details to the logo by making more WordArt and changing font colors. Moving objects around is sometimes hard because objects snap to the invisible grid in PowerPoint. You can turn this off by selecting an object like the WordArt then look for the Format ► Arrange ► Align ► Grid Settings… then uncheck the Snap objects to grid.

4. Drag objects by clicking and moving them to the desired location like seen on the image. Rotate objects by clicking and holding the green dot and rotating to the desired outcome.

5. Highlight everything on the screen and click the Format ► Arrange ► Group ► Group. This enables all the existing objects to act as one. This is useful in making things move around the screen at the same time without losing their alignment.

6. Add shapes to make a container background for the logo.

7. Send the new shape behind the existing WordArt by using the Send Backward command found in Format ► Arrange ► Send Backward.

8. Change colors and add a gradient to make the logo more appealing. Choose a shape Format ► Shape Styles ► Shape Fill ► Gradients > More Gradients than a dialog box will appear. Choose Fill ► Gradient fill and set to desired gradient color settings.

9. Repeat steps 6-8 until you can come up with the desired background.
