GOOD evening to everyone attending today’s match against Hythe and Dibden. I would like to wish all of their officials, players and supporters, as well as the match of-ficials, a warm welcome to Petersfield.
What can I say about Saturday’s victory against Wey-mouth in the FA Cup? It was a truly wonderful day for the club both on and off the pitch and one which saw our reputation go up another few notches.
On the field the players put in one of the best perfor-mances I have seen from a Petersfield team in my eight years with the club.
They worked incredibly hard to ensure we were com-peting in the game but the quality of our football was superb. You have to bear in mind that the Weymouth side was packed full of players with Football League experience as well to put into context just how good a win that was.
Off the field I cannot praise enough our growing band of loyal volunteers and the incredible amount of hard work and time they put into that matchday.
Clubs at this level cannot function without the help and support of their volunteers and we are lucky to have what I would consider the most dedicated and hard working bunch around.
Not only do they give you fantastic customer service during your visits to Love Lane but they are also collec-tively a friendly and welcoming group, all working to make this club better for everyone.
It is very pleasing as we are finally getting a solid platform from which to build on, make improvements and grow the club for the future.
And we are getting a lot of people coming forward to join us, so if you want to help out contact us using the details below or come and see me on a matchday.
Enjoy the game and come on you Rams!!!GRAEME MOIR, CHAIRMAN

MANAGER’S notes
I’D LIKE to wel-come Hythe and Dibden to Love Lane for this eve-ning’s Hampshire Senior Cup match.
I must admit I’m still buzzing from Saturday’s result against Weymouth in the FA Cup.
It was another historic and fantas-tic day for the club,
beating such a massive non-league club and also progressing to the second qualifying round stage of the competition for the very first time.
In terms of the draw, I’m just delighted to be in the next round so I wasn’t really concerned about who we got.
Having another home draw is great but it will be another tough game for us against Southern Premier Division opposition.
However, that is all for the future and like you will always hear me say, it is all about the next game you have to play.
There is no point us thinking about the FA Cup in a week or so’s time as we still have three matches to play before that game comes around for us.
All of those matches are absolutely cru-cial to us. A league game on Saturday where we will be wanting to take our FA Cup form into that game and get three points, and another cup competition in the form of the Portsmouth Senior Cup next Wednesday.
Tonight we face Hythe and Dibden in the
Hampshire Senior Cup and this is a competi-tion I will be taking very seriously.
It gives me a chance to give a game to some of our squad players so they get the opportunity to have some valuable match time to maintain their form and fitness.
But we will be fielding a strong team as I want to do well in this competition this season. Hythe and Dibden will also be keen to come here and cause an upset and take a Southern League scalp.
The last season we played them at league level they gave us some really tough matches and I am expecting the same from them this evening.
They are a hard working side so we will need to match that work rate throughout the match.
Therefore we need to be on the top of our game tonight to get the result we want and go through to the next round.
It is an interesting second round draw for the competition as quite a few of the big sides have been drawn against each other.
So at this early stage a few sides who would have been fancied to win this cup will be going out so the draw may open up in the forthcoming rounds.
It’s an important competition for us as it is a trophy which is available to win and in terms of football in Hampshire, it is the major and most prestigious competition.
We had a good run in it the season be-fore last so it would be good to better that quarter final record and see how far we can go in the competition.
Enjoy the game tonight.

Still buzzing from FA Cup adventures but focus is well and truly on this game
