Golden Week Reminder“Golden Week,” a week of Japanese national holidays, kicks off on Saturday, April 29. Expect heavy traffic and congestion on the roads as well as increased pedestrian traffic. Please use “WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS” time tables for trains and busses on the following days: April 29 and May 3-5. In addition, there are many free family-friendly events during Golden Week. For example, Ueno Zoo and Tama Zoo will offer free admission on Thursday, May 4.

COMMENT: I’m new to living on base, and our home is close to the chapel. On Easter Sunday, there was music blaring from the chapel so loud we had to close our windows for peace and quiet. The following week there was blaring music again, and we can’t open our windows because it’s so loud.
HOSPITAL REMODELINGFollow signs for an alternative check-in desk for the first floor C wing, which includes Family Practice, during remodeling. The Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy departments have reopened at their original clinic location on the second floor.

The price for school lunches at all DoDEA schools OCONUS will increase $0.25 for the 2017-2018 school year. The new prices for elementary and secondary student meals will be $2.75 and $3.00 respectively.

SULLIVANS FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Sullivans School is looking for 30 volunteers to assist with its field day event on June 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will meet at 7:30 a.m. Call 243-7336/2575 for more information.
RESPONSE: We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the music from the chapel. The chapel air conditioning has not been turned on yet, and we need to open the windows for the comfort of our attendees. Once the air conditioning is on, we can close the windows, making it more peaceful and quiet.
Seaman to Admiral-21 is a full-time undergraduate commissioning program open to all eligible enlisted personnel. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2017.
