Vacation Bible School 2020
With so many unknowns and the safety and health of our kids and volunteers being of utmost
importance, we have decided to cancel St. Stephen's Vacation Bible School for the summer
of 2020. It is disappointing, as we always look forward to VBS, seeing God work in the lives of our kids and through our volunteers, but we are
confident this is the right decision. We made this decision now so that we can work
on other fun and impactful ways to reach our kids and families during our current situation.
Thank you for your prayers and your continued support of our Kids Ministry!

Daily Prayer for May 17th, 2020 Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a
great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God - Jesus, the Son of God. Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel
sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin.
Hebrews 4:14-15, TEV Dear Father in heaven, we look to Jesus Christ, who is at your
right hand, through whom you have promised help for the whole world. Unite us with him so that we may receive authority to help
all people according to your will. May your name be kept holy among us, for your children have every reason to rejoice in the Savior you have given them. We thank you for everything you
have shown to those who believe in you. We pray to you, hasten the time when your day shall come with glory, the day when you will give the glory to Jesus Christ, when he will reign and triumph over all evil and bring the peace you have always wanted to give
the world. We wait and long for this. Amen.

Helping Hands of Midland 1301 Brinson Lane
(432) 520-8900
In the seven weeks that we have been impacted by losses of jobs due to either COVID-19 or the crash in the oil industry we have as of last Sunday been able to help 324 Midland families keep their homes, so far at a cost of $360,644.52. We cannot emphasize
enough that everything that we do is a result of your generosity. Although our store reopened two weeks ago, we have not yet
regained the full business that we had prior to the store being shut down. And that is to be expected. Many people are still leery of venturing out of their homes and we certainly understand their
concerns. We will continue to help those in need for as long as we can. We
hope that those who are unemployed begin receiving their unemployment checks soon. We applaud the many landlords out there who are rolling back their rents, foregoing late charges and
working with their tenants to prevent evictions. God bless them! And we pray that all of this
ends soon and jobs are restored. In the meantime, we again thank everyone who makes what we do possible through your continued
support of the poor through Helping Hands!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are in need of someone to pick up the bread and pastries at
Albertsons (Midland Drive and Wadley) on Thursdays and Fridays. It needs to be picked up
before 10 a.m. and brought to our location at 1301 Brinson Lane. If interested please call Mary (432)
528-6265 anytime and let us know which day you would prefer. Thank you very much!
