JOHN 4 : 35 - 36

LOOK !

John 4:35-36 (ESV)35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet

four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up

your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the

one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life,

so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.

Either Wheat •Or Barley

Look - no more green !

They are white –

ready for harvest !

Harvest is not just a romantic idea – it is hard work – the hardest part of farming!

‘There are yet (still) four months, then comes the harvest’ …

so relax lah!

Even if the exact time for harvest is not yet – know that harvest is

coming and you must get ready for the harvest!

To prepare only at

harvest time is too late. The crops

will not wait for you to be ready – they

will die!

Farmers must prepare for harvest !

How do farmers prepare for harvest ?

1. Finish all other projects - free to give all attention to the harvesting task.

2. Make sure you get all the help you need!

2. Make sure you get all the help you need!

Luke 10:2 (ESV)2 And he said to them, “The harvest is

plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the

Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

2. Make sure you get and prepare all the help you need!

3. Make sure all your tools are in working order.

3. Make sure all your tools are in working order.

Sharpen your sickle.

Order parts or new machinery now.

4. Have a plan to maximize the use of tools and labour resources.

5. Check and prepare the storage of the harvest.

5. Check and prepare the storage of the harvest.

No rats, no pests, not leaking…

6. Prepare emotionally.

6. Prepare emotionally.

Thrilled and happy.

6. Prepare emotionally.

Thrilled and happy at first

Doing the same things.

The familiar and routine broken.

Lord, what is on your heart ?
